Attilio Carraro (PhD) is a professor of Sport and Exercise Sciences at the Faculty of Education of the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano, Italy, where he is the Deputy Dean for research and the Head of the Sport Sciences Lab. 

He authored over 270 publications, in seven different languages. Prof. Carraro is currently the general secretary of the SISMeS (Italian Society for Exercise and Sport Sciences) and a member of the Board of the AIESEP (Association Internationale des Écoles Supérieures d'Éducation Physique - The International Organization for Physical Education in Higher Education), in charge of research and innovation. The main research field of his Team is health and physical activity, with particular focus on physical activity promotion in children and adolescents and in vulnerable groups, and on the relationships between physical activity, physical literacy, fitness and mental health. Another recent research direction regards wellbeing promotion and stress control in university community.
